United Airlines Mainliner Airplane

Description:

This is an old cigarette card from Wings cigarettes. These cards were included with the cigarettes and they are sometimes called tobacco cards. This is one of fifty modern airplanes as the set was called. It is a United Airlines Mainliner. These airplanes were responsible for flying the oldest air transport route in the USA. These airplanes are Douglas DC-3's with a top speed of 206 mph and a cruising speed of 185 mph when powered by twin 1050 HP Wasp engines. The Mainliner is an aviation classic for sure.
