This is an old cigarette card from Wings cigarettes. These cards were included with the cigarettes and they are sometimes called tobacco cards. This is one of fifty modern airplanes as the set was called. It is a US Army Standard Trainer. Technically it is aTearman PT-13A Model A75L3. These planes were used for fundemental flight training in the US Army Air Corps. They were equipped with a 225HP Lycoming engine that moved the airplane at a top speed of 125mph. It was known best for great visibility and smooth operation therefore it became known as one of the top training planes of its time.
