Spartan Executive Airplane

Description:

This is an old cigarette card from Wings cigarettes. These cards were included with the cigarettes and they are sometimes called tobacco cards. This is one of fifty modern airplanes as the set was called. It is a Spartan Executive. The Spatran was a five-place, low wing, single engine airplane. It also had retractable landing gear making it a powerhouse plane for the private pilot. It was equipped with a 400 hp Pratt and Whitney Wasp Junior engine that provided a top speed of 212 mph and cruie speed of 200 mph. The Spartan Executive had an overall range of about 1000 miles.
