This is an old cigarette card from Wings cigarettes. These cards were included with the cigarettes and they are sometimes called tobacco cards. This is one of fifty modern airplanes as the set was called. It is a Piper Cub Coupe. This plane was manufactured by the Piper Aircraft company in Lock-Haven Pennsylvania. It was one of the most popular side by side coupes in the country in its time. Pilots and passengers complimented Piper on their roomy and comfortable interior. It was powered by a 65 HP Continental engine. The top speed was a cool 100 mph with the cruise rated at 92 mph. Its unusally low landing speed of 37 mph made this a great trainer. These Pipers are classic aviation heros for sure.
