This is an old cigarette card from Wings cigarettes. These cards were included with the cigarettes and they are sometimes called tobacco cards. This is one of fifty modern airplanes as the set was called. It is an American Airlines Flagship. This is technically a DC-3 aircraft. this was the leader of their commercial fleet at the time. It was powered by twin 1220HP Wright Cyclone engines. Cruising speed was estimated at just over 180 mph with the top speed at just over 200 mph. This airplane had retractable landing gear and an automatic pilot. I'm sure this DC-3 Flagship has flown many passengers over its lifetime.
