This is an old cigarette card from Wings cigarettes. These cards were included with the cigarettes and they are sometimes called tobacco cards. This is one of fifty modern airplanes as the set was called. It is a Aeronca Model LA. In its time, this airplane held three world records in the light aircraft category. It was the ideal trainer since it was difficult to stall and resisted spinning. It was powered by a somewhat small 65HP Lycoming engine yet could cruie at 95mph. The landing speed on the planes was 35mph which also helped it become a popular trainer airplane.
